Stage 0: Solo Founder ($0-$50K ARR)
Prove outbound works before hiring anyone. Target: 50+ emails/day, 3-5% reply rate, 5-10 meetings/month.
Stage 1: First Hire — The Founder's SDR ($50K-$200K ARR)
Hire hungry junior SDR ($45-55K base). Invest heavily in training. Your involvement in first 30 days is critical.
Stage 2: Small Team (2-3 SDRs + You) ($200K-$1M ARR)
Multiply what works. Add specialization by segment. Track: emails/day, reply rate, meetings/SDR/month.
Stage 3: Managed Team (3-5 SDRs + Manager) ($1M-$5M ARR)
Hire SDR Manager. This is the most important hire. Remove founder from day-to-day.
Stage 4: Scaled Team (6-10 SDRs + AEs + RevOps) ($5M-$20M ARR)
Full org: VP Sales → SDR Manager → AE Manager → RevOps.
